CapNet Partners with One Voice to Give Back
Los Angeles, July 30, 2007 - Capital Network Leasing Corporation (CapNet) recently announced that it has partnered with One Voice, a non-profit organization helping local families and children living at poverty level.
"We feel it is our responsibility to live up to the values we were founded on by giving back to our community," said Dustin White, CapNet's CEO. "When deciding to seek out a non-profit to align ourselves with, we wanted to find an organization that would be powerfully impacted by our efforts. We discovered One Voice, and we knew we'd found just the one we were looking for."
One Voice's programs are designed to directly impact the lives they touch. Their College Scholars Program prepares and places low-income, inner-city high school students in colleges throughout the United States. "We seek out private and public colleges and universities that have the financial capacity to support our scholars, with a 95% rate of them remaining in school and graduating," says Sharmon Goodman, Scholars Program Director.
The Packin' Bags program, which One Voice created to ensure that these special students have the necessary items to unpack like everyone else, finds local sponsors to take them shopping for the blankets, school supplies and other necessities they need for dorm life. This year, CapNet sponsored 5 Packin' Bags students, taking them to lunch and shopping for the items on their lists. It was a day we won't soon forget.
