CapNet President Earns National Volunteer Service Award
Los Angeles, July 5, 2007 - Blake Johnson, President of Capital Network Leasing Corporation (CapNet) has earned the President's Volunteer Service Award from the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation.
President Bush created the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation in 2003 to find ways to recognize the valuable contributions volunteers are making in our Nation. The program was created as a way to thank and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service. Recipients of the award must achieve a certain standard - measured by the number of hours served over a 12-month period or cumulative hours earned over the course of a lifetime.
"This award recognizes your dedication to volunteer service and signifies that you have served your community and your country with distinction", said the Council. Johnson's award comes after years of dedicated service to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, where he has mentored several children and been involved in many other capacities.
Says Johnson: "I am honored to be recognized by our President for this award. Helping the amazing young men and women that are a part of Big Brothers, Big Sisters has been an incredibly humbling and rewarding experience that I will take with me forever."
